Locality highlights - Baner Gaon

Baner is a suburb of Pune situated towards the city's west near the Baner- Biodiversity Park. Located just off the Katraj-Dehu Road Bypass, it is surrounded by Pashan in south, Aundh to the north, University in the east and Balewadi to the west. Aundh, which is also situated close to Baner, has significantly developed as a residential area attracting many buyers. Balewadi, another suburb near Baner came into limelight during the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2008. The presence of the IT Park at Hinjewadi has significantly contributed to the increase in demand for property around the Baner-Balewadi belt. University is also situated close to Baner and is easily accessible from the Mumbai- Expressway. A number of companies have set up base in Baner including Calsoft and Symantec.


Road is about 6 kilometre long and stretches from the University Circle up to the Mumbai- Expressway. This is the longest stretch of road for people travelling to and from Baner. A 120-feet long road currently under construction will connect Balewadi, Wakad and Baner. Almost 40% work on this road has already been completed and it is expected to be functional by 2016. In order to decongest traffic, an elevated road linking Baner and Hadapsar has been proposed. The -Pashan link is 3 kilometres long and connects Pashan and Baner. Katraj-Dehu Road Bypass connects to NH4 that provides an outer access from Pune. The road connecting Sports Complex to Baner has greatly improved connectivity in the area. PMPML buses ply at regular intervals from Baner and Balewadi belt to different parts of the city. The Railway Station is about 12 kilometre from Baner.
