Maraimalai Nagar is located towards the south Chennai. It is the headquarters of the Maraimalai Nagar Taluk and is a part of the Kancheepuram District. The area was developed in the 1980s by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) as a satellite town.
