Locality highlights - Kondhwa
One of the oldest colonies situated towards the southeast of Pune is Kondhwa. It is among the most recently developed residential areas and fastest growing suburb in Pune. Located within close proximity to Camp and Cantonment, Kondhwa is directly linked to Swargate bus stand, Pune railway station, Baner, Airport, Hadapsar, Hinjewadi, Kalyani Nagar and Deccan Gymkhana. This locality is surrounded by NIBM in the East, Bibwewadi in West, Vihar in North and Lulla Nagar in South. The Wanorie area under Kondhwa houses several Army set ups like the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) and Command Hospital and the Artificial Limb Center.
Connectivity
Kondhwa is strategically connected to the Mumbai- Highway through the Katraj-Pisoli Road. This locality is easily accessible from any part of Pune even while travelling from Camp to Saswad and Mumbai-Bangalore highway to Bypass. The commercial zone is located at a 9-kilometre driving distance from Kondhwa. The nearest shopping hub is Deccan situated just 10 kilometres away. The construction of a highway has also been proposed, starting from Katraj to Road, which will be about 60 metres wide. Mohammadwadi locality is also well-connected to Kondhwa by the Bypass. Its close proximity to the Mumbai- Highway through the Katraj-Pisoli Road is one of the major reasons for the large number of migrants settling in the area. Development of the Bypass Road has led Kondhwa to enjoy close proximity with Undri. Another upcoming location in East is Pisoli, which is also located close to Kondhwa.
