Locality highlights - Gachibowli

Gachibowli is a major IT suburb of Hyderabad located in the north-western part of the city in the Mandal of the Ranga Reddy district.

Gachibowli is situated 5 kilometres from HITEC City and houses several prominent IT companies like Wipro, Sierra Atlantic, Computer Associates, Infosys and Microsoft IDC (largest development centre of Microsoft outside the US). Cyber City, Madhapur, Kollur, Malkapur, Patancheru and Hafeezpet are some of the areas located within proximity of Gachibowli. Surrounding areas include Jubilee hills, Madhapur, Banjara Hill, Kothaguda, Mehdipatnam, Panjagutta and Kukatpally, among others.

Tourist attractions in and around Gachibowli are Durgam Cheruvu, Shilparamam, Hussain Sagar, Ramoji Rao Film City and Golconda Fort. A new IT SEZ by DLF is also expected to be developed in Gachibowli. In addition to being an IT hub, Gachibowli is also a sports hub. The GMC Athletic Stadium and a world-class Hockey stadium are located here. Connectivity

Gachibowli is well-connected to HITEC City and the Outer Ring Road connects it to the international airport at Shamshabad. To provide better connectivity and additional transport facilities for commuters, a metro train is also being planned in the city and will be operational by 2015. The Nehru Outer Ring Road connects Gachibowli to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and nearest railway stations are Hafeezpet Railway Station and HITEC City Railway Station.

The Deccan Railway Station is located at a driving distance of 14 kilometres and APSRTC buses connect Gachibowli to Mehdipatnam and Koti. Hafeezpet MMTS Train Station is about 6 kilometres and HITEC City station about 7 kilometres from Gachibowli. To decongest traffic and reduce travel time between Mehdipatnam and Gachibowli, a 650-metre long flyover at Toli Chowki Junction has been proposed. Another important road, the old Mumbai highway connecting Jubilee Hills with Gachibowli road is being extended from 60 feet to 120 feet.
